According to the British Coffee association, we Brits drink a staggering 95 million cups of coffee per day! It’s now part of our modern day ritual to have a quick morning espresso to get us moving or a hot cappuccino to get over the daily afternoon slump.

Studies have shown that consuming small and regular amounts of coffee has potential health benefits, however excessive caffeine can cause adverse effects on the body and mind including but not limited to insomnia and increased blood pressure.

These delicious caffeine free drinks that won’t keep you up at night. They are often blended together with natural sweeteners such as figs and dates: ​ Dandelion – Made of roasted dandelion root whilst dandelion leaves are used to make tea. Dandelion has a diuretic effect allowing your liver to eliminate toxins more quickly from the body. This property can also be useful for reducing water retention such as swollen ankles. Chicory – Made from the root of the Chicory plant. It contains the prebiotic inulin meaning it’s highly fermentable by the friendly bacteria in the gut. Prebiotics can help promote the growth of helpful probiotics in your digestive system needed to keep the gut, brain and body healthy.
